There the bet that Google is making for tablets is stronger now than at any time in recent years. The presentation of the Pixel tablet, which will not arrive in Europe in the first wave, has forced the company to seriously update many of its applications. As announced at Google I/O in 2023, there are more th an 50 programs suitable for this screen size, which many other devices, not just the Google tablet, will be able to take advantage of.
In fact, Amazon Prime Day 2023 is positioning itself as a very interesting day for buy a tablet or update the one we have. We will see offers from brands that sell their products in Europe, both in large tablets and in others designed to read or play. But we must not forget that there are also impressive offers on other sites, such as that of Carrefour which offers a television with the purchase of a mobile.
The latest update of an application that has been seen for this type of device is Google’s weather application, which has not only adapted its interface to large screens, but also has completely revised its design, a redesign that should come to mobile later. For now, it remains in the Google app, but that may change in the future.
Lots of weather information
With the new interface on tablets, the weather application will allow us not only to see the weather where we are at the same time as we consult it, but also will give us the forecast for 10 days in a column on the left side of the screen. The frog that Google uses as its mascot remains in this new interface, along with the animations that show us the weather at a glance without having to look at temperatures and other numbers.
At the bottom of the screen we will have all data for the next few hours
All this information is displayed using Google’s new design language, Material You, with much more rounded elements adapted to the colors of the system, which change automatically depending on the wallpaper that we put on the mobile. At the moment, Google’s weather app is still integrated into the Google app, but it looks like in the future this might change to become a standalone app, as mentioned in 9to5Google. And yes, it will reach mobile phones as we saw a few weeks ago at the Google event, but we still don’t know when that will happen.
