Think of the photos of your years that you keep in very low quality, the first captures in the heyday of digital, or certain memories that you directly kept in low resolution because you didn’t have room for more. With this trick you can resize or increase resolution of any image, fix pixelated photos and fix artifacts from those captures with poor quality.
We allow ourselves the luxury of using trucazo in the title with justification: this tool is awesome. And for that, we will be using an API which, in turn, is powered by AI via real-ESGRAN: “real-world super-resolution blind training with pure synthetic data”.
Scale any image without losing quality
The tool in question is inside the “Nightmarish AI” and is called real-ESGRAN. The website does not require registration, but to use this tool it is essential to have a GitHub account. For those unfamiliar with the platform, GitHub is the largest repository on the planet for hosting and sharing software projects. That’s to say, the tool uses royalty-free source code and only the recording of use and collaboration is reported.
Luckily the page itself redirects to GitHub and if you don’t have an account you can create it on the fly, link it to a used email account and that’s it. As you can see from the screenshot, you can scale up to 10 times the actual image size and simply by dragging and clicking the ‘Submit‘ the result will have been generated. Then you will have to give ‘Download‘ to save the image in question.
Another option is smoothing using neighboring pixels. You can use face enhancement or skip it. The result will be a little more unreal, with some color saturation, but quite interesting anyway. In conclusion, it is a magnificent tool, free and of unlimited use, which you can enjoy from any iPhone or Mac, since the technical requirement, the computer processing, is carried out in the cloud and not through your device.
