About two years ago WhatsApp added support for video calls. We can easily start a group video call touching the camera icon coming from a group where, including us, there are a lot of people involved. Limit that Facebook wants to extend.
They are more than four people, but how many?
In code for the final beta version of WhatsApp, WaBetaInfo received clues that give us indications that the limit of the four participants will change in future app plans. Received code appears both on iOS and Android and its implementation can happen very quickly.
Some of the messages that the app will display are:
- Several people are using an older version of WhatsApp.
- To start a call % d of all participants require the latest version of WhatsApp.
- % 1 $ s using an older version of WhatsApp
Entering values gives us a clear understanding that the limit for four people will change in the new version of the app. What will be the new limit? Here we can only guess. Instagram, and owned by Facebook
While waiting for the extension of this restriction we have other attractive alternatives such as SpaceTime, Signal or Skype.
