November is usually a pretty quiet month for Apple releases, and we expect 2024 to be no different.
The new M4 Macs, announced at the end of October, will be available in stores on November 8. If you’re thinking about getting that new Mac mini, MacBook Pro, or iMac, November could be an exciting month for you.
However, these have already been announced and we don’t think there’s much else happening outside of the usual Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade releases. The next beta versions of the operating system (iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, macOS 15.2, etc.) have already started and will continue until November, but their release is expected in December.
New hardware versions
Apple just announced at the end of October a trio of new Macs equipped with the M4 processor range (M4, M4 Pro and M4 Max). All will be shipped on Friday November 8th.
iMac M4: In addition to the upgrade to an M4 processor and 16GB of RAM minimum, the iMac gets an improved 12-megapixel camera with support for Center Stage and Desk View.
MacBook Pro M4: The MacBook Pro M4 looks a lot like the previous model, but with an improved 12-megapixel camera supporting Center Stage and Desk View, and 16GB of RAM at a minimum. Three processors are available: M4, M4 Pro and M4 Max. The M4 Pro and M4 Max models also come with Thunderbolt 5 ports.
Mac-mini M4: Apple’s smallest Mac is getting its first redesign in years and is now much smaller (5 inches x 5 inches) and a bit taller. You can get it with the M4 or M4 Pro, prices still start at $599, and it comes with 16GB of RAM minimum.
Applications and software updates
The iOS 18.1 and macOS 15.1 updates are with us, bringing the first set of Apple Intelligence features. Apple has already started the beta testing cycle for iOS 18.2 And MacOS 15.2. This will continue throughout November with several updates, but the full-scale release is not expected until December.
The big new features in version x.2 are the features related to the image generation of Apple Intelligence: Genmoji, Image Playground, Visual Intelligence for iPhone 16 and Image Wand in the notes. ChatGPT integration is another big improvement.
