Google Chrome gave an extra touch of Material You to Google Chrome with a redesign of your favorites page more in line with other parts of the interface, such as the new New Tab page.
Chrome bookmarks are now displayed with larger icons and previews of the pages in question (when available), making them much more visual, although in exchange we will see less of them at a glance.
Some additional visual markers
For many years, Google Chrome’s favorites on Android have remained virtually the same, like a list of folders and icons from every website we’ve saved. Now the browser usually activates a redesign important.
With this new design, bookmarks and folders They become much bigger and with insight of each web page, if available, instead of using the website icon or favorite icon. You can see the differences between the new design and the old one in the screenshots below.
This redesign has been present in the browser for some time as a Chrome flag, although it is now only Google started enabling it as standard and it is foreseeable that in the future this will be the only model available for markers.
If you’re not too convinced, you can always deactivate it with the Chrome flag #android-enhanced-bookmarkswhich Google describes as Android Visual Bookmarks Manager. As we mentioned previously, this redesign gives more importance to each element of our favorites, whether folders or pages, although in exchange we will see less of them on the screen because they are more big.
