During this week, CES 2022 takes place in Las Vegas, the largest consumer electronics show of the year, and the preferred event for manufacturers to showcase the new televisions which will hit the market throughout this year. And during this year a new manufacturer will bet on Google TV.
It is Hisense, who during the announcement of its new ULED TVs – not to be confused with OLED – confirmed that the new models will switch from Android TV to Google tv, thus following the steps of Sony Yes TCL, which since last year launch models with Google TV.
The new Hisense ULED with Google TV
In recent years, Hisense was already launching certain models with Android TV, with which it was foreseeable that they would make the jump to Google TV, since it is the same operating system but with Google’s proprietary interface which integrates most streaming services.
During the presentation, Hisense showcased four models or series for its high-end ULED. Its top of the range for this year is the series U9H, which relies on Mini LED backlighting (with over 1,280 dimming zones), HDR +, peak brightness of 2,000 nits, 4K 120Hz gaming support, FreeSync variable refresh rate and a new updated processor to improve responsiveness. Of course, it will only be available in 75 inches for $ 3,199.99.
With the series U8H We ditched the 50- to 75-inch models that offer maximum brightness at 1,500 nits versus 2,000 nits for the U9H. With series U7H we also lose the Mini LED backlight and with the series U6H the 120Hz refresh rate is also lost. These last two series will be available from 50 inches to 85 inches. S
All ULED 2022 models, as well as Google TV, will come with a built-in microphone, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision IQ, and Filmmaker mode. It will be necessary to wait all this year that Hisense announces its models in Europe to know their prices.
