It’s been almost five years since we’ve known the original Honor Play as a new series of gaming-oriented mobiles by Honor. The years have passed and while the Honor Play 6T and Play 6T Pro appeared last year, we are now witnessing their successors: Honor Play 7T and Honor Play 7T Pro.
They are two mobiles of different design, although with nearly identical hardware. And it is in the ‘almost’ that we remain, since despite the few differences, there are some. Wow there are.

90 Hz screens, but with a different size and resolution
We have already warned that at the design level they are devices with a different aesthetic line and size. It’s not that they are total opposites, but their camera modules or their colors highlight it well. In terms of dimensions, they are separated by 5 millimeters in height and 21 grams in weight, with the Honor Play 7T being the lightest.
Looking at their screens, both have IPS panels, although LCD in the case of the standard model and LTPS in the ‘Pro’. They also change their screen diagonals of 6.74 and 6.7 inches. Difference which is intended to be inappreciable because it will be the FullHD+ resolution of the ‘Pro’, stay in FullHD “dry” the normal model. and both with 90 Hz refresh.
Another small noticeable difference is that the front camera is not positioned in the same way. In the standard model it comes in the form of a drop of water from above, while the “Pro” integrates it as a hole in the screen.
What we do not find on the screens is a fingerprint reader. As usual in these ranges, the fingerprint sensor remains on the sidea position perhaps more uncomfortable, but this experience tells us that it tends to offer faster sensors.
The eternal debate: lots of battery vs fast charging
As the brains behind these devices, Honor says they pack in a Dimensity 6020, a economical mid-range chip from MediaTek that allows these devices to take advantage 5G connectivity. Also, they include 8 GB RAM and storage of 128 or 256 GB.
The big difference is in the batteries. He Honor Play 7T mounts a 6,000 mAh battery to remain one of the mobiles with the best specifications at this stage (well above the 5000 mAh common in the industry). He Honor Play 7T Pro “is satisfied” with 4,000 mAh.
This difference has its counterpart in loading speeds, since the ‘Pro’ offers 40W fast charging. A power that is perhaps not very striking given the barbarisms that exist in the market, but that undoubtedly exceeds the 22.5 W of the normal model.
As for the cameras, little difference exists on paper. The only one is Selfie camera of 5 megapixels in the normal and 8 in the “Pro”. On the back we find a dual camera of 50+2 megapixels on both devices, the second being a depth sensor.
