The iPhone notification center allows us to see all our notifications at a glance, without having to open each application individually. A most useful resource to quickly and easily discover what is happening in our digital ecosystem and also to not forget anything.
However, sometimes it can be handy to disable access to Notification Center when iPhone is locked, either for privacy reasons or to avoid distractions. Something that we can do very easily and according to our preferences and the use that we give to the iPhone.
Several reasons for a very easy and fast adjustment
By default, when we receive a notification, it appears on the iPhone lock screen and also added to notification center. We can access the notification center by sliding our finger down from the top center of the screen or by sliding it up from the center of the screen if the iPhone is locked. We will see all our notifications in a list and the same can be done by anyone with access to our phone.
It is true that the text of the notifications will not be visible until we unlock the phone. And it is also true that the individual notifications, the most recent, will continue to appear unless we deactivate them for each of the applications that we consider. But without going too far and making checking notifications too complicated, disabling notification center access with a locked iPhone is an interesting middle ground.
we can also want turn it off to avoid distractions. In addition to setting a focus state, if you’re trying to focus on a task and don’t want to be distracted by the temptation to check notifications, disabling Notification Center when iPhone is locked adds a little additional friction to this query.
Given the reasons, let’s review how to configure our iPhone so that it only shows us our notifications when it is unlocked, the steps are very simple:
- We open the application settings on our iPhone or iPad.
- We entered Face identification and code oh Touch ID and passcode.
- We enter the code from our iPhone or iPad.
- At the bottom we deactivate notification center.
Note also that we can disable other options like Viewing and searching today oh Control center, all with the aim of ensuring that no one without the code of our iPhone can access any of the information it displays. A simple process that can be done in a few steps and very interesting to have better control over our notifications and information in general.
