Google Wallet, which used to be Google Pay, has become the ultimate virtual wallet application on Android, completely free and with the possibility of not only adding credit cards but also loyalty cards and even movie tickets and more.
It is one of the best utilities that you can carry on your mobile when traveling, or even simply to have your plane or train tickets close at hand when you travel.
Today we are going to show you how you can add all kinds of cards and tickets to Google Wallet so that you can use your mobile as a wallet and easily access your cards, tickets and tickets.
How to add tickets to Google Wallet
Google Wallet isn’t like other virtual wallet apps that let you upload a PDF you have on your smartphone, but rather you will need to add the content either via the button that appears on the main page of the application, or via direct access in the ticket payment confirmation email.
If this is the first case, you will have the possibility to add four types of cards, but you will not be able to enjoy it if you live in Europe. These are the following categories:
- Payment cards: you can add your bank cards here to pay using your smartphone’s NFC connectivity.
- Transport card: transport cards from the United States, you will not be able to add them in Europe.
- Loyalty cards: point cards for shops and services such as cinemas and supermarkets.
- Gift card: gift cards from certain stores and physical businesses that offer them.
How to use your cards in Google Wallet
Once you have added your cards, you can set a default bank card so that, when you bring your NFC-compatible mobile closer to a dataphone, you can pay with it automatically, without even having to open the app.
If you want to add a loyalty card, you will have to open Google Wallet and, on this same main screen, scroll until you find the card you want to use.
when you just do click on it and it will show —in some— a barcode next to your membership or card number, so that it can be read with a barcode reader.
