By default, the system offers us to activate the low consumption mode of our iPhone when the remaining charge is less than 20%. A useful warning, because now is a good time to decide whether we need to stretch the autonomy of our phone to the maximumbut there are other ways.
Other means supported by the Shortcuts app so that, without notice or interaction from us, the low power mode of our iPhone activates automatically. An automation that we can customize for any battery level we want.
Automatic activation according to our needs
Setting up an automation like this is really easy thanks to the Shortcuts app, the same one we used to create a GIF from the iPhone in three seconds. An application in which we can use the battery level of our phone to perform actions without us having to intervene. Create an automation that enables low power mode when the battery drops below a certain percentage requires these steps:
- We open the application shortcuts on our iPhone.
- We enter the tab Automating.
- If it appears, we touch the “+” at the top right.
- we choose Create a personal automation.
- we choose battery level.
- We use the slider to adjust at what percentage we want to enable low power mode.
- At the bottom we select It’s less than X%.
- We press Next.
- In the search engine at the bottom we write “low”.
- we touch Set low power mode.
- we touch Next.
- We disable confirmation request.
- we touch don’t ask.
- we touch OKAY.
Clever. From now on, when the battery of our iPhone drops below the threshold that we have just defined, the low power mode will be activated automatically. we won’t see no notice on this and we will not receive any noticeit will simply be activated and that is how we will find it when we see the iPhone again.
It is true that written like that, 14 steps to create an automation may seem like a lot, but the truth is that it is a very simple and intuitive process. If we dare, let’s look at step 5, where you can choose other variables to enable or disable low-power mode, such as when connecting the iPhone to a charger, for example.
Thanks to the Shortcuts application, we can automate this interesting way very easily. A process that lasts a few minutes at most, but can considerably facilitate freight management of our iPhone.
