With macOS, Apple lets you automatically hide the menu bar. In versions of macOS prior to Big Sur, the setting to enable or disable this option is in the general system preference.
But in Big Sur, Apple has changed the settings. You are now in the “Dock & Menu Bar” system preference. To have the menu bar hidden and displayed when the cursor is moved to the top of the screen, select the check box.
