One of the best ways to organize our library in the Photos app is through Albums. With them we can collect, whether for a trip or for a special occasion, both photos and videos under the same name and title, and also under the same prominent image, the one that we can change or edit at will. Let’s see how.
An image that will always be selected from those of the same album
When we create an album on our iPhone, iPad or Mac, the system will automatically choose an image to place it as featured image i.e. the album cover, the one you can see without entering it
Just a reminder. For create an album in the Photos app from our iPhone or iPad we just need to select all the ones we want to include, we touch the Share button, we choose Add to album and we select New album. After writing the name and touching to safeguard we will have our album ready.
Let’s see how to change featured image of this album. On our iPhone or iPad the steps to follow are as follows:
- We open the app Pictures on our iPhone or iPad.
- On the iPhone, we enter the tab Albums and we enter the album we want to edit. On the iPad, you select the album you want to edit directly in the left sidebar, under the title My albums.
- We are looking for the image we want to put on the cover.
- We maintain it.
- We choose Convert to main photo.
In the Mac the steps are very similar. More specifically the following:
- We open the app Pictures on our Mac.
- We select the album we want to edit in the sidebar. We will find it below Albums, leaflet My albums.
- We are looking for the image we want to put on the cover.
- We click on it secondarily.
- We choose Convert to main photo.
As we can see, it is necessary that the album cover photo is part of the same album. Otherwise, we have to add it before we can place it as a cover. Fortunately, the process is very straightforward. We just follow the same steps we saw to create a new album, but instead of choosing a new one, we choose an existing one.
By the way, in addition to the photos we can also put videos as cover picture. Note, however, that one of the first frames of the video is selected and that it does not play in the Photos interface. Nonetheless, it is a useful resource for properly illustrating certain albums where videos predominate over photos.
And that’s it for the albums and the cover photos. It is quite common that we want to order our library with care. In the end, everyday photos and videos can be of great value, so it is essential to be able to bring together those of special occasions under a representative image. Fortunately, these are a few hits.
