Nearby Sharing, the protocol for sending files quickly between Android phones, is now available for Windows in Europe, and now a new function has arrived that Allows you to copy and paste text between your mobile and your computer.
This is a feature that started rolling out in the beta version of the app, which for now is the only one that can be installed on Windows. In the Android mobile or tablet, it is not necessary, because it is preinstalled.
To do this, you first need to download the Nearby Share app on your computer. the app is completely free and you can download it from Android website. To use it, the computer must have Bluetooth.
How to copy and paste text
The procedure to copy and paste text between Windows and Android is quite simple. First, you need to copy the text to your computer and paste it into the application Sharing nearby.
After that, you will have to choose the device to which you want to send the copied text, which should appear in the list of available ones.

To carry out the process from the mobile, you must copy the text and then click on the button share with nearby. After that, you need to select the computer from the list of available devices.
Once done, a notification will appear on the computer or mobile in which there is the copy option —which is the one to press— or the open option, if the text is a link.
When the process has been carried out from one of the two devices, all you have to do is paste the content of the other. It will already be in the clipboardit will therefore be easily accessible.
It must be taken into account that there is no story in which you can see the texts that have been copied previously. Therefore, if text is needed again, it will need to be copied and pasted again.
It is a fast and intuitive method to share text between computer and mobile or tablet. There are other alternatives such as using a WhatsApp or Telegram chat.
Google should launch the stable version of Nearby Share for Windows throughout the year, although there is nothing confirmed by the company, which released this beta at CES in 2023.
