Microsoft managed to convince us to use Bing; If that doesn’t show that AI is changing the market, I don’t know what will. The alternative search engine to Google has won over many users since it offers a ‘chatbot’, called Bing Chat, based on the same technology as ChatGPT; but that’s not the only thing he can do.
What we need to create images with Bing
You might not know it, but Bing also has an artificial intelligence image generator. It is based on Dall-E, another project from the creators of ChatGPT, OpenAI. Thanks to a million dollar investment from Microsoft, the company can use this technology in its products, and for users, this means we have access to easiest and easiest way to create images from text; and best of all, free.
To create images with Bing, we only have two requirements. The first is have a Microsoft account, which we can create for free; Or we can use an Outlook account if we have one, since it is part of the same platform.
The second requirement is use a peripheral web browser. The Artificial Intelligence functions are not accessible from another browser, so we have no choice but to use Microsoft’s; At least if we use Edge we will have access to more AI features if we are interested.
That’s it. Before, there were more requirements, but with today’s announcement, Microsoft has opened up this technology to all users. So we can use both Bing Chat (ChatGPT-like artificial intelligence) and the image creator.
How to create AI images with Bing
To create images, just enter the bing.com/create page with the Edge browser and the Microsoft session started. Immediately we will see some of the creations of artificial intelligence, which can serve as inspiration for creating an image.
It’s very simple: in the search field we only have to write what we want and click on the “Create” button. Now, if you want results close to what you think, it’s important to keep a few things in mind.
To begin with, the AI used by Microsoft is able to understand what we say, but it can get “stuck” if we don’t explain it well. For this reason, Microsoft recommends using a clear structure in our sentenceswith a subject, an adjective, a verb and finally, a style.
The latter is perhaps the most important, because it is what will give originality to the image. We may use the name of a classic artist, or request an image that is realistic, or resembles an oil painting or other effect. We recommend that you try the same phrase with different styles, because we can find “jewels”.
For example, you can write “A yellow car winning a race, Van Gogh style”, and the AI will understand what you want and generate an image after a few seconds of loading. By default, it will show us four thumbnails, which we can see larger by clicking on the images; If we click on the image we will also have more options, such as sharing the image with a link that we can copy and paste on social networks or messaging applications, or save the image in our account or download it to our device.
The images we created are stored in the register recent, which stays on the right side unless we disable it.
An option if we don’t know what to create, or how to create it, is to press the “Surprise Me” button, which will automatically fill in the box with a suggestion.
Limitations when creating images
Obviously this technology still has technical limitations, and it mostly fails when it comes to rendering human forms (with deformed hands and faces), and don’t ask it to render letters because it won’t be able to do it.
