Every year Spotify delights us with its Wrapped which sums up our musical tastes of the moment, but in the meantime you can opt for a more at-home solution to summarize the music you like in a table: you have it on Spotify Pie.
Spotify Pie is a third-party tool created by developer Darren H which read our musical tastes of the month and summarize them in a graph, adding the artists more moments. It is free and very easy to use.
Create Your Own Spotify Pie
What music do you like? The answer may be complicated for some, but luckily technology comes to the rescue again, in the form of a summary graph of your Spotify.
It’s not an official tool, so the first thing you’ll need to do is open the Spotify Pie website, hosted on GitHub, and sign in with your Spotify account. You can use any method available to you with your account, such as logging in with Facebook, Apple, Google, phone number, or email.
According the method you choose to connect, you will encounter a different window in each case. For example, if you have chosen to log in with Facebook, you will need to log in to your Facebook browser first, if you are not already logged in. Also, if you have already opened your Spotify account in this browser, you can directly skip this step.
It is give the web app permissions to access your Spotify data. This is mandatory because the application must play the music to be listened to on Spotify in order to generate the graph. Some of the data the app will receive include your name and username, profile picture, followers, public lists, what you play, and your most listened to artists. Spotify Pie source code is available on GitHub.
as soon as you press Accept goes generate your Spotify Pie, which you will see in your browser. If you tap on one of the segments of the graph, you will see which musical genre it corresponds to, as well as a list of the most listened to artists of each of them.
Just below you have the legend of which musical genre corresponds to each color, which is conveniently ordered from largest to smallest. Just below you have the list of your most listened to artists of the month.
From there, it’s up to you what you want to do with this chart. If you want to share it in other apps, maybe the easiest way is take a screenshotsince there is no built-in way to share it.
