Artificial intelligence has invaded our Android phones in recent years. One of the most notable and useful functions that it has offered us is the magic eraser, this function that remove elements from our images. Google eventually reached all Android devices, making it easier to weed out people who shouldn’t have left.
But Google’s isn’t the only feature of the style: you have alternatives such as the Magic Eraser app, Xiaomi’s Magic Eraser, and even Samsung has given its Galaxy a similar feature. We show you how to delete objects on your Samsung Galaxy with One UI 6 and higher versions.
Everything integrated into the Samsung gallery
It would not be strange if after an unforgettable day that we keep memories of, we go to the gallery of our Galaxy to come across photos in which people not invited to the party have slipped, or objects that distract the ‘attention. For these cases we have a somewhat hidden function in the A user interface gallery
As we have already said, this is the Magic Eraser, even if the Korean manufacturer does not give it exactly that name: it is called “Object Eraser” as Samsung confirms on its official website. And best of all, it doesn’t just delete objects: it can also keep them and delete the rest of the image.
Where are these “magic” options? Well, directly integrated with Samsung’s native Android Gallery. Therefore, it’s as simple as going there, choosing the image we want to edit and clicking on it. pencil icon which you will see at the bottom of the screen.
Once we enter the edit mode We will have several tools: among them the usual cropping tools, filters, photography settings and even the possibility of drawing with your finger. In the last icon of the editor we will have the two functions that we are looking for.
How to use the Object Eraser and Lasso to isolate elements in our images
By pressing the buttons that we indicate, additional options will be displayed. Among these, those that are close to our hearts are “Object Eraser” and “Lasso”each for a different task.
The first is the most obvious, because it allows you to surround an object to eliminate it. The Gallery app will recognize the scene and intelligently replace the selected object. The result can vary considerably between photos, so you may find some strange ones. We will just have to repeat until we find the option that suits us best.
On the other hand, the “Lasso” does the opposite: keep objects eliminate the rest of the image. Useful to have a backgroundless image to use in our projects or simply to modify it.
Here’s how to use the Object Eraser:
- Tap the icon that depicts “Object Eraser.” You will see a short charging process, as soon as the screen turns back on it will be ready to use.
- You can draw a line with your finger around the object to be erased, or by touching it. Generally, it works well with a simple tap.
- You will see that the objects are marked with a dotted outline, all you have to do is press “Delete” for the AI to do its magic.
- After a few seconds you will see the result on the screen. You can tap the back arrow icon to cancel the edit. When you’re ready, click “Done.”
On the other hand, the use of the “Lasso” It’s similar, but has a different effect:
- Now tap “Lasso” and, as with the other option, draw a line to enclose an outline or perform a short touch on the object. Select as many as you want, if you regret it, just click “Uncheck” to delete them individually.
- When you have correctly selected the objects to isolate, press “Next”.
- On the next screen, you can choose to put an outline on it, along with its colors. When you have found a result you like, click “Done”.
Finally, we must save the photo, but keep in mind that it will ask you if you want to overwrite the original or save it as a new file. For the latter, click on the icon with the three dots, then on “Save as copy”.
