One of the limitations that iOS has with the App Store is inability to download files torrent. Like it or not, the main use given for this file transfer is personalization (as happened with Popcorn Time), so Apple does not approve the publishing of such apps in its store. However, there are always exceptions and ways to break the law.
In one of my current jobs I manage a project that requires a large number of files to be routed and shared regularly. The easiest way we found this one Use P2P transfer. However, how do I make it compatible with the fact that I only use the iPad as a work computer? The answer is on Put.io and its iOS app.
The mediator between the torrents and you
As I have shown, Apple does not allow apps to download directly torrents on iPhone or iPad. So, all you need to do is use a vendor. Someone to download the torrents and let you download them "traditionally" as a single file. This is exactly what Put.io did, a website that downloads servers torrents and allows you to easily handle them.
Put.io is web service Providing you from 100 GB to 10 TB of storage on your servers. Unique cloud, because it can also add a client torrent downloading and uploading files. So, when we access Put.io we do it from its website or its app, because it does not send torrent files to devices via P2P, Apple does not restrict its use.
How does Put.io work
The task is simple, once you sign up you have access to your account where you have several categories such as Files, Transfers or automation by RSS. The web lets you upload a .torrent file to begin searching and downloading, although it is also possible to add torrents using magnetic coordinates.
As soon as we add a torrent this is we will start downloading through our Put.io cloud and will be available for the user to download later as a normal and current file. The process works fast, Put.io collects information from torrent and automatically assigns it to the user, that is, you do not have to wait for the download torrent complete on the server before downloading it.
In addition to downloading files, Put.io also lets you watch videos for example directly in your work without having to download them. In addition, it even allows for example to automatically search subtitles when movies or series for example. Another exciting job available is automation. We'll see it later for example, but in general terms it means you can search for new files to automatically download from the source we are showing.
Additional tools to make good use of Put.io
Put.io itself is an excellent file management tool torrent in a very traditional way. However you can get so much more out of it thanks to different "tools" associated with it. For example, we can convert it with IFTTT and if we want we can have files directly on TV thanks to the tvOS, Roku, KODI or Plex app. There are also numerous extensions for browsers and file downloading applications. Also, it has the iOS app as we've seen before. You can see the full list.
We see better the feasibility of these tools with three concrete examples.
- Watchio: It is an iOS app that syncs with Put.io's account to always find files related to movies or television series. As soon as you find one of these files, separate them, add metadata and display it in your library as much as possible to produce it directly.
- Magno: Magno is a web search engine torrents allows to receive torrents from various data and copy your magnet link directly. But in addition to this, it is also possible to link Put.io account to a button that will allow you to add torrent directly to our Put.io cloud if we wish.
- ShowRSS: We are looking for another web service that allows us to create an account and add a different series we would like to download. So, as soon as a new episode is available, it's up to us to feed link torrent to download That to feed Added to Put.io in the automation section by RSS we mentioned earlier. The result? Whenever there is a new episode of any series we've added to ShowRSS, it will be automatically downloaded from Put.io for download.
Helpful?
Put.io is A powerful tool for managing and modifying downloads of torrents, whatever it is. Its use is very simple and convenient, making P2P transmission also available in the iOS ecosystem. Does it hit her? Possibly its price, it costs a total of $ 9.99 per month or $ 99 per year. This is for a 100 GB storage plan (more than enough for most users), and then for the other two systems for $ 19.99 and $ 49.99 per month, respectively.
Put.io is a payment tool for that it's worth it to pay for it. In my case, when working without a Windows or macOS computer and using an iPad, Put.io has become more than necessary. However, with the project I'm managing, I can write this Pay.io subscription payment with no problem. It is a matter for everyone to see what they need and don't need. In any case, that is untenable torrents IOS is beyond denial.
One last point. As can be seen throughout the article, movies and series downloads using torrent are used as an example. At the NDA it is not possible for me to show real examples of how I use the service in actual archives, which is why the series and movies are set, which is what the ministry focuses on. This does not mean that it seeks to promote slavery.
