If you have an iPhone for any other year, you may often run out of limited storage space without really knowing why. However, you may need to point to the app you use most often and which may have up to GB GB of storage space for your device: WhatsApp.
With WhatsApp they send us dozens of photos, videos, memes or files, stored within the app itself and most users don't know. WhatsApp uses a unique way to save photos and videos sent to us on the iPhone, something that causes confusion and significantly reduces internal storage. All files are created, that is, they are stored inside WhatsApp and within the Photos app. Today we will tell you how to handle it properly and get more GB memory.
WhatsApp robs you of gigabytes
First of all I recommend that Turn off the WhatsApp function that makes photos and videos automatically saved in the Photos app. This way you will avoid making these files duplicate, since only the Photos app will be saved as long as you want. To do this, go to WhatsApp> Settings> Conversations> Save to Photos. If you want to save the image, video or file sent to you by WhatsApp, you must press and hold the file and click Save.
Now the next step is to delete photos, videos, audios or files stored within WhatsApp. Don't worry about that If you saved them to another app, such as the Photos app, even if you turn them off on WhatsApp, you'll still save them in that application. However, the space they occupy will be limited.
We have two ways to delete files, photos and videos that they send us, though one of them is very useful and is the one we will explain first.
The first way to manage files within WhatsApp will allow you quickly select the most busy conversations, just follow these steps:
- Install the app WhatsApp on your iPhone.
- Click in the bottom right Setup then come in Data and storage.
- Below click Consumption of storage.
- Here you will see the rest of it discussions loaded from top to bottom weight
- Enter the conversation you want to delete the files from and click Manage …
- Now you can do it select what you want to delete to choose between text, contacts, locations and what takes up so much space: Photos, GIFs, videos, voice messages, documents and stickers.
- Select the ones you want to turn off and click on Empty.
The second way allows us to be something More accurate when deleting photos and WhatsApp filesTo remove them selectively, follow these steps:
- Come in WhatsApp and in any case discuss from there you want to delete the files.
- Click on high, where the name appears.
