MIUI, the personalized layer of Xiaomi mobiles, offers us many tips for get the most out of our phone. With them, it is possible, for example, to replace the icons with those of Google in the notification bar, to set a video as wallpaper or to know the RAM available in multitasking.
The trick we bring today allows us to see the data consumed from our monthly rate of the notifications panel a Xiaomi phone, something very useful if you don’t have an unlimited or loose enough data plan. It is even possible to set up a notification to notify us when we have consumed a certain percentage of our monthly data bonus.
Don’t overdo your data usage
If you have contracted an adapted mobile rate and want to know how many gigabytes have you spent To manage your monthly bonus, you can ask MIUI to show it to you instantly on your Xiaomi mobile. To do this, you don’t need to install any app, just follow a few simple steps which we will explain below.
First of all, to keep more precise control over data consumption, Xiaomi needs you to tell it which day of the month your bill starts and how much data have you contracted in your tariff. To do so, follow these steps:

Open the Security application.

Enter the App settings by tapping on the icon you will find in the upper right corner.

Press on ‘Data usage’.

In the “Data usage settings” section, click the option ‘Data plan’.
In this section you can set the ” Monthly data limit, that is, the number of gigabytes included in your price. From here you can also indicate the day of ‘Reset billing period’ and, very useful, set alerts “When the data plan runs out” or when you have consumed a certain percentage of your monthly bonus. For the latter, click ‘Data usage notification level’ and set the percentage you prefer.
Once all of these settings are set, you can tell MIUI to show you how much data you’ve consumed by showing the quick settings panel, just above the brightness bar. To do this, open the Security app> Settings> “Data usage” and, in the “Additional settings” section, activate the option “Data usage notifications”.
As you can see, although it is a bit hidden, it is a very handy function that quickly and easily will allow you to carry a real-time monitoring of mobile data consumed. Thus, you will be able to better manage the bonus included in the price of your operator so as not to miss concerts.
