Ending a call without hurting your feelings is possible thanks to airplane mode!
Ending a call without offending people is more difficult for some than others. And sometimes we just need to hang up to attend to another activity or simply disconnect for a moment. For those looking for a discreet and subtle way to end a call on your iPhone without seeming rude, there is a way around it.
If you think that just pressing the red button on your iPhone is enough, know that this only fulfills the part of ending the call, doing it without seeming rude depends on something else.
When you intentionally hang up a call on iPhone, the person on the other end sees a message on their phone saying “Call ended.”. But When the call was terminated due to poor coverage, the message “Call Failed” is displayed. However, we can also make this message appear using airplane mode.
You “accidentally” end a call in airplane mode.
Voluntarily displaying the “Call Failed” message is possible using airplane mode.
Enabling airplane mode will instantly interrupt the mobile connection, causing the call to end. On the receiver screen, the call will be displayed as “Call Failed”simulating a technical problem rather than an intentional action on the part of the user.
To enable airplane mode, follow these steps:
- Swipe the screen: If your iPhone has a Home button: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen. If you don’t have a home button: Swipe diagonally from the upper right corner of the screen.
- Activate airplane mode: Press the airplane mode button to turn it orange.
- Check the connection: The green cell phone button next to the airplane mode button will turn gray, indicating that the cellular network is turned off.
- Check the indicator: The mobile operator name in the upper left corner will be replaced with an airplane symbol, confirming that airplane mode is active.
When using this method, it is important to keep in mind that activating Airplane mode will interrupt all network connections, including cellular calls, text messages, and mobile data.
Furthermore, This trick only works with calls that depend on the cellular network. If the call is made over Wi-Fi, the receiver may still be connected and can see that the call has ended. So you’ll need to tap the blue Wi-Fi button in Control Center to end Wi-Fi calls.
Answering a call is quite simple, but not always ending it. It also happens that this happens due to technical problems, for example when we cannot hang up a call with the iPhone locked, but there are also several solutions for this.
