HyperOS is a fairly complete operating system in terms of functions and its interface, but there are ways to make it further improve the experience. The system allows you to have detailed control of the battery, and even add virtual buttons on the screen.
When it comes to multitasking, Xiaomi, POCO and Redmi phones with HyperOS display apps as a series of boxes or tiles on the multitasking screen, but some prefer to use a interface in the style of what we see on the iPhone and also on Samsung Galaxy phones. Fortunately, it’s possible and you don’t have to install anything. The option is available natively on your Xiaomi mobile.
Multitasking in landscape format is much more comfortable to use, especially with one hand
This goes beyond interface design, and whether HyperOS will have a more iOS-like interface: in reality, having apps in landscape format on the multitasking screen makes the user experience is more comfortable and more convenient, especially when we use the cell phone with one hand. This way we will only have to swipe between applications and select the application we want to access, or close it completely, if we wish.
HyperOS, by default, configures the multitasking screen with applications as grids, but landscape format is also available in the operating system, without having to install third-party applications or use complicated tricks. In less than a minute we can change the interface and multitasking design.
To change the multitasking screen interface, follow these steps:
- Let’s go to the Settings menu of the mobile
- We access the section Start screen
- We move forward until we find “Organize recent items“and we press this option
- Finally, we select the Horizontal view for recent articles
In addition to being able to change the way recently used applications are organized, we have two other configuration options that can be useful: show memory status and blur the application preview.
The first allows us to see how much RAM we have available in the mobile every time we access the multitasking screen, which will allow us to have better control of resource consumption on the mobile and, if necessary, close applications that we are not using to free up resources.
The option of blurry app preview It does exactly what it promises, letting you choose which apps you want to have a dimmed preview for on the multitasking screen, which adds an extra layer of privacy.
