The wait is over for some Android Auto users: Coolwalk has definitely arrived on car screens. With a deployment that seems to have started in a very staggered fashion, the new interface gradually reaches more phones. Do you want to know if yours already has Coolwalk without having to get down in the car and connect the mobile? There are two ways, we tell you.
The car and the mobile can become one thanks to platforms like Android Auto, a system used by more and more vehicles. Thanks to this technological symbiosis, Not only are journeys made more enjoyable, they are also safer. Android Auto reduces the risk of distraction as everything on the screen is displayed clearly and concisely. In fact, this console representation has been greatly improved with Coolwalk.
The app tells you if you already have Coolwalk
To know whether or not you have activated the new interface, the most logical thing to do is to get into the car, turn it on, connect the phone and load Android Auto on the vehicle console. This process is usual when you have to take the car to go anywhere, but It’s a problem if all you want is to check. Therefore, it is better to insure yourself from your mobile.
Since Android Auto is nothing more than the phone application projected onto the car screen, and all modifications to this application are activated from the Google Play services associated with your account, you will never know for sure that you already have Coolwalk without empirical verification. Or connect the mobile to the car or cheat to use only the phone.
Currently, there are two ways to find out whether you have Coolwalk on your mobile or not from the phone itself: either by checking the Android Auto settings or by loading the driving screen through the Headunit Reloaded app.
Check if you have Time option
Currently, Android Auto does not provide weather indication on the Coolwalk display. So Just check if the setting seems to exclude the arrival on your phone.
- Access Android Auto settings on your Android mobile with one of the available methods.
- Scroll down until you find the “Time” setting. If it does not appear, you should already have the Coolwalk interface active.
Google doesn’t offer weather in the new Android Auto interface right now, but that probably won’t be long. Therefore, this verification method will not always work: The best thing is that you make sure of this by booting the system itself.
Use Headunit Reloaded to start Android Auto on your mobile
This application is an Android Auto projector on a secondary screen: your mobile, a tablet, another phone… For our task we will use Headunit Reloaded in “Self Mode” or self-projection mode. And it works for you with the free version of the application: if you start it and Android Auto with Coolwalk appears, it means, logically, that you have activated it.
