In addition to the music or podcasts our Apple Watch can also play the audiobooks we found in Apple books. With watchOS 6 the app arrived Audiobooks on our watches, let's see how to use it.
First, remember that the playback of content on our Apple Watch must be done blue headsets. Either AirPods, Beats or third-party headsets. The first thing we will do is connect it to our watch.
The difference between the Library or the iPhone ”
Unlike a music or Podcasts app that lets us listen to it to broadcast, the only way to listen to audiobooks download them earlier. We can download them on our iPhone, iPad or Mac. In terms of the Apple Watch, by their nature, we can listen to both audiobooks downloaded to the watch, as well as those downloaded to our iPhone. Generally, for battery reasons, we will choose to play them directly from our Apple Watch. The steps are as follows:
- We open the app Audiobooks on our Apple Watch.
- We use the digital crown to top it off.
- We choose A library (or On the iPhone).
- We choose the audiobook we want to hear.
When playing an audiobook the controls from the screen allow us several actions:
- We have the information in the chapter, as well as the book we listened to at the top.
- In the middle section we find the play / pause button. When playback is active, the circle around us reflects the reproductive process.
- The left and right buttons allow us to upgrade or reset playback for 15 seconds.
- The fan-shaped button on the bottom left allows us to choose which headphones to connect to.
- The middle button below allows us to select the chapter we want to play.
- The 1x button allows us to determine the speed of play.
It is important to mention that the covers we see below are an option A library associated with the latest production or items in the list "To learn". If we find an audiobook we like in this section we can produce it directly, although, in some cases, in this list some things are not.
How to synchronize audio books with our watch
If by following the steps above we are missing some audiobook we can easily install it from our iPhone. We will follow these steps:
- We put the Apple Watch on its charger.
- We open the app Watch on our iPhone.
- We add a tab My watch.
- We play inside Audiobooks.
- Click Install audiobook …
- We choose the audiobook we want to sync.
When an audiobook appears in that section From the library Two things are possible. If it appears without a cloud symbol after its name, it indicates that the book is already waiting. When it comes to the cloud, the audiobook is waiting to sync. In this second scenario, After a few minutes, the audiobook will be synchronized and we can use the previous steps to listen to it on our Apple Watch.
