Apple Intelligence opens the door to new tools on our devices, and one of the ones that will attract the most attention is the ability to remove objects or people from our photographs with truly surprising results, without having to install applications and easily.
We already knew this tool, presented by Apple at the last WWDC when they showed us iOS 18 and Apple Intelligence for the first time, but it was only available today, with the latest beta of iOS 18.1. It is important to remember that Apple’s artificial intelligence, Apple Intelligence as it is called, will arrive with this version of iOS, and first in the United States, with a date of arrival in Europe still unknown due to the problems posed by the law on digital markets The European Union asks Apple. But that doesn’t stop us from having already been able to test the Artificial Intelligence functions to show them on our blog, and the one that surprised us the most is this new “clean up” cleaning tool that Apple has just integrated into the latest iOS beta 18.1.
How many times have you taken a photo in which there is a person or object that spoils it? Well, it is no longer a problem because with just a few touches on the screen you can get rid of it and leave an almost perfect photo. The new cleaning tool is located next to the rest of the editing functions that appear when editing a photo in the Photos app, on the far right at the bottom of the screen. When you press it The tool will automatically detect items that could be deleted, but you can also choose other itemsor even refine the final result. The options they offer you are to surround the element or to “paint” it, and the Artificial Intelligence will take care of recognizing it, eliminating it and repairing everything that was behind this deleted object so that the final result is as real as possible.
In addition to deleting objects, the tool allows us to pixelate faces in photographsperfect when minors appear in photos that we want to upload to social networks. To pixelate the upload, you have to paint with your finger on the face of the person you want to keep anonymous, and their face will be automatically pixelated. In the tests I have done, it does not work on other elements that are not faces, such as license plates or identification numbers, but this feature may improve over time, remember that this is the first Beta in which it is available.
