One of the reasons why WhatsApp has become an extremely popular app in Europe is its simplicity. Unlike others like Telegram, the app created by Jan Koum and Brian Acton focused on the supply side in their early years a very simple interface, accessible to all.
When Meta bought WhatsApp for $19 billion The same essence was maintained during the first months, but little by little it changed, as The service includes many new features, most of which have been well received.. Indeed, simplicity was also linked to the lack of options and features.
Currently, the application is still simple, so that anyone, of any age, knows how to use it almost instinctively, but it is true that there are many functions that are not known and that could help in the daily life of practically any user. One of them is the management of favorite messages.
Until a few years ago, WhatsApp was used for conversations between family or friends, conversations that, most of the time, were not particularly important, at least not in terms of the need to save data and specific items. This has started to change when WhatsApp also started to be used in the workplace, to receive quotes, invoices or simply messages containing important data that had to be located.
For this it is possible to use the function Highlighted, Its role is to mark a specific message with a star, to store it in a special section of the application. To mark a specific message, you just need to long press on it and select the star at the top right of the screen. This will send you to the section of the application where all the important messages are located. In addition, a gray star icon will appear in the conversation right next to the sending time and blue check marks indicating that the message has been viewed.
This section is located in the main menu, in the three-dot icon, in the title Featured Articles. If we enter, we will see the list of saved messages given. We can open them or go to the point of the conversation where they are located simply by clicking on the arrow that appears next to each one, on the right side. If we want to empty this folder, we can click again on the three-dot icon and check the option Don’t highlight anything.
