What are Google Play Points and how do they work?
First, the introductions. Google Play Points are a loyalty program via Google Play Store rewards. Thus, it rewards all purchases made via the Google app store: applications, games, in-app purchases, films or books.

How to earn points with Google Play Points
The first thing you need to do to earn points with Google Play Points is subscribe to the program, for which you will have to open the Play Store on your phone and tap on your profile (upper right corner). Now go into ‘play points‘ and press the ‘ buttonJoin‘.
If you have just registered, your level will be bronze, so you will earn one point for each euro spent. The good thing is that during the first week after your subscription, you will receive a welcome bonus of 3 additional points for each purchase. The more you buy, the more points you will have, so you will level up and it will cost you less to earn more points and advantages.
Remember, earning points isn’t just about buying apps, but also about buying movies, e-books, and games.
But the money is not only earned with purchases in general, but also by completing “special missions” in Google Play Points. What is a special mission? Download some selected applications or answer surveys, among others.
Another aspect to consider is the point boosters, which will allow you to earn more points with less effort, for example by subscribing to certain services or reaching milestones in games, which is very useful if you like to try new applications or spend time on to play games. These enrichers are active for a certain period of time and there are some that double, triple or even quadruple the number of points obtained per euro spent. You can activate them on the main screen of the program (the Play Points section of the Google Play Store, in the ‘Earn‘)
How to redeem your Google Play Points for cash
It is essential to frequently visit the ‘Benefits‘, which you will find in Play Points, as this is where you can see your accumulated points. As points are not automatically added to your account, you will need to go to this section to claim them and add them to the total.
From that moment and when you already have enough points, it’s time to check in to redeem them. Here you have several options:
- Directly and without the need to exchange them for a balance, you can use Play Points as an alternative payment method in the Google Play Store. As you can see just below these lines, when you make a purchase, they will appear as an alternative, being able to use the exact amount needed.
- Redeeming Play Points for Google Play Creditsto use them later to purchase apps, games, movies, e-books and other content on the platform.
