With prices starting at $3,499, the Apple Vision Pro is too expensive for many people. But anyone can try the Vision Pro and it won’t cost you anything except your time. If you are interested, you can now schedule a Vision Pro demo online in the United States.
The In-Store Shopping Sessions section of Apple’s website offers a registration form to schedule a demo. He describes what you should expect in the demo: 30 minutes of one-on-one session during which a specialist will perform a fitting (including lenses for glasses wearers) and you can “experience the magic of spatial computing”.
The form recommends several Apple Stores based on your location, along with a date for the next available appointment. After choosing a location and date/time, you will be asked for your contact details. Apparently you have to be 13 or older to participate; Apple asks you to confirm this, otherwise you cannot reserve the time slot.
Demos can also be booked in person at the Apple Store. You probably won’t be able to just walk in and get a demo without an appointment; you will probably need to schedule for a later time. Apple is showing off the Vision Pro, but when I visited my local Apple Store last weekend, the display headsets weren’t turned on and they were mounted on stands so they couldn’t be tried on.
If you’re wondering if the demo experience is like a visit to a car dealership where the salesperson is constantly pressuring you to buy, that doesn’t seem to be the case. During my recent visit to the Apple Store, the salespeople were happy to discuss Vision Pro, but they never engaged in tough sales tactics or just asked if you wanted to buy one. A. igamesnews’s Michael Simon, describing his Apple Store Vision Pro demo, wasn’t pushed to buy either: the salesperson asked about the experience and left it at that. Your experience may vary depending on the goals of that store and the sellers involved, but there does not appear to be any order from Apple’s corporate side to pressure customers into purchasing.
