Sometimes we wish we could maintain a WhatsApp chat without having to save this contact in the calendar. Either for privacy reasons and not wanting to show you certain information such as our photo, or because we are just going to talk to that person or company once.
Fortunately, it’s an option that’s been available on Android phones and iPhones for a long time. The steps to follow are very simple and will save you from having to go through that tedious process of first adding the contact to your iOS directory. This, yes, you will need their phone number.
Chat on WhatsApp with any number without saving it to contacts
If it’s the other person or company that initiates the conversation, you’re in luck. You don’t have to do anything, but if their name doesn’t appear, you can always add it by clicking on their details in WhatsApp. If you want to be the one to start this chat, just follow these steps:
- Open the “WhatsApp” app on your iPhone.
- In the “Chats” section, click the “+” icon in the upper right corner.
- In the search engine text field, enter the phone number of this other person or business.
- If this phone is registered in WhatsApp, it will appear under “Users who are not in your contacts”.
- Now click on chat next to the number.
The process is that simple, without having to plan it in any way. Also, as an added tip, remember that it may not be necessary to add the +52 prefix if the phone number is from Mexico, but if it is foreign you may need to do it.
Likewise, remember that the traditional method continues to work fully, which is simply that of access via a URL inserted in the browser. For example wa.me/52123456789since its insertion will open the possibility of establishing a chat on WhatsApp (the number is fictitious, but the “wa.me/” must be there).
