We recognize it. Getting up every morning is not a tasteful dish for anyone, least of all with waking up, which we eventually become somewhat fond of (note the irony). Fortunately, on Android we have enough alarm apps for anyone who is not convinced by the native solution we offer. is preinstalled on the mobile.
There is really no need to download and install additional applications to program an alarm to wake you up: your Android mobile has one with many features so as not to continue to fill its internal memory with “megabytes”. It’s that simple set alarm with clock app.
Let your Android wake you up every morning: here’s how to set an alarm
Fortunately, all mobile phones equipped with Google’s operating system, Android, they have a native clock app which in turn performs characteristic functions such as stopwatch, world clock (knowing the time in other places in the world), countdown and yes, as it could not be otherwise: it has an alarm .
Of course, consider that your smartphone must be on at the time we have set, otherwise you risk losing it: not all cell phones are capable of turning on (if they are turned off or without battery) to trigger the alarm.
With that considered, let’s see how to set an alarm on Android. Whether you have a Xiaomi, a Samsung Galaxy, a Realme, a Motorola Moto or a Google Pixel, the operation is similar, otherwise almost the same. As we said before, you have to look for the clock app icon. Generally, this application has no losses: it is called “Clock”.
The current Android interface follows the Material You guidelines and therefore adds a bottom bar which acts as a menu to move through the different sections. Your phone’s clock app is no exception: looking at the bottom of the screen, you should see the icon “Alarm” section. Tap on it to access the alarm function where we can set as many as needed.
By default it usually includes a few alarm clocks, you will see them in the list. It is possible to use them, delete them and create new ones. It’s as simple as you can make it:
- In the alarm list, press the “+” button to create a new one.
- Next you will see a clock in which you can set the time we want it to ring: sometimes it comes in digital format, other times in the form of a circular clock with hours and minutes. It’s very intuitive and simple.
- Then you can customize different elements such as repetition (single or recurring ringtone depending on the days of the week), alarm ringtone, duration and name. Complete these fields as needed.
- Press the “Ok” button, usually shown with the “✓” symbol.
- Ready! The alarm will be set and appear in the list. If you want to turn it off, simply turn the switch to the off position.
Alternatively, we can use the timer or countdown functions for our Android mobile to ring. Of course, you will have fewer possibilities for customization: these elements of the watch generally do not allow you to change the sound or frequency.
Even simpler: you can ask your mobile assistant
Both the Google Assistant, which now has Gemini AI, as well as Bixby and other assistants integrated by different manufacturers have the possibility to simply configure alarms using our voice.
The “Ok Google” commands are there to help us: just say “Ok Google, set an alarm for tomorrow at 9 a.m.” for the digital assistant to set it without having to touch the screen.
