Almost all Apple devices offer a setting to write to Siri and read her responses!
When we want to invoke Apple’s assistant, most of us think of saying the famous “Hey Siri”, but when talking to him is not convenient or difficult for us, we can too choose to write to Siri. This option is available on various Apple devices and we will guide you to enable it on each of them.
How to write to Siri
Using Siri without speaking on iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV is made possible by the accessibility options offered by Apple. Although for some devices there are additional tricks as well.
Use Type to Siri on iPhone and iPad
Here are the steps to activate and use Siri without speaking:
- open app Setting and go to Accessibility.
- Get down and touch Siri.
- active Type Siri.
- Call Siri by pressing the side, main or top button from the iPhone or iPad. Now write your request and press the enter key.
- To make another request, tap Type for Siri and enter a new command.
On the iPhone, there is also another option to enable Siri input:
- and one Settings > Siri and Search.
- to touch Siri Answers.
- activate Always show your requests. This option will write and display the instructions we give to Siri.
- To test this option, press the button to summon Siri and say a word. Siri will type what it hears. Although the message can be changed, with the keyboard available.
- After approving the result, press Enter to see Siri’s response.
By typing Siri instead of talking to it, it goes without saying that we also expect the response in writing. For this we must deactivate the option to always answer and change it to answer only with ‘Hey Siri’ through the menu Settings > Accessibility > Only with “Hey Siri”
