Samsung, like other brands, started selling mobile phones with Android 11 in Europe, starting with the Samsung Galaxy S21.
He is not the first to sell models with this software or to update some of the devices previously released, but he is the first to eliminate one of the flagship features of this version.
Samsung Galaxy won’t have the powerful Android 11 power menu
In Free Android, we have the opportunity to test many new mobiles from different brands, and some of them use Android 11. We had the opportunity to see what Android 11 looks like on the Pixel, on OnePlus, Live or on OPPO.
They share all of the features that Google created for Android 11, but Samsung has broken the trend.
We are currently analyzing the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and have noticed that One UI 3.1, the version used by this model, does not have the power menu released by Android 11.
We wanted to know if this decision is temporary or if Samsung has decided not to implement it permanently. We contacted the company to find out their position, and this is their response:
“We do not implement this interface in any Android 11 today.”
However, that does not mean that we do not have the option to use this menu. It can be found in a shortcut called My devices, in the notification curtain.
We hope that decision will change soon, in the same way that Samsung has backed down when it comes to not using Discover on its mobile desktops, which is already possible with One UI 3.1.
