Few brands have had as much influence on the history of Android as HTC; Unsurprisingly, it was the maker of the Dream, the first Android mobile launched for the general public. Unfortunately, today’s HTC isn’t as prominent, and its releases go largely unnoticed; For example, did you know that last year HTC launched a new mobile? You probably erased it from your memory as soon as you saw its focus on the metaverse and NFTs, two concepts that went out of fashion as quickly as they came.
Now HTC is trying again, but this time it looks like the result may be more appealing, because it looks more like a classic mid-range Android mobile
This will be the new HTC mobile
HTC has confirmed that its new mobile will be presented on May 18; although it only revealed an image in which nothing is seen, in reality the mobile was leaked last week and we already know that it will be a conventional device, despite all the marketing of HTC.

And it is that HTC remains convinced that the metaverse is the future, and is approaching this launch as part of its “Viveverse”, so in theory it will coexist with its virtual reality and augmented reality devices. But in practice, it is a normal mobile phone that will probably have features or applications related to these technologies. And that’s good, because it lets us focus on the phone itself and HTC’s smarts. Instead of spending money and resources to create a high-end mobile that only a few will be able to buy, HTC’s new model is clearly mid-range.
mid-range mobile
If the rumors are true, it’s likely to be called the HTC U23 Pro, and it’ll have good but not state-of-the-art components; For example, the processor should be a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, which should offer good performance but never at the level of the most expensive mobiles. It will come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
In the cameras we will find a 108 Mpx sensor, accompanied by three other sensors that are not yet known, although we expect that at least one will be dedicated to obtaining depth data for augmented reality. There filtration it also teases a 4,600mAh battery and an AMOLED display, all running Android 13, of course. A very curious detail from the leak is that apparently this mobile will have a traditional 3.5mm audio jack output, something really unexpected in the mid-range at this point.
The key, of course, will be in the price of this HTC U23 Pro and in the launch, which are not yet known.
