Following the announcement of the international launch of its app store, AppGallery, Huawei continues to make progress in developing its Android ecosystem, independent of Google. In this regard, it has partnered with other companies, such as TomTom, but is also building its own applications.
Last but not least we have the proof Huawei Search, an app aimed at restoring Google Search, one of Google's most important apps.
This app is currently in beta and some users are already testing it.
Search for all types and dark mode
Huawei's new app focuses on allowing us to search for text, photos or videos. We don't know for sure which search engine it uses as a search engine, or if it's an improvement. At XDA they indicated that it did not appear to be at the forefront, even if Bing, something that would be possible as Microsoft had a government approval to do business with Huawei.
The app has shortcuts at the top, which allow us to do a specific search, like then. In addition, it is compatible with EMUI 10's black mode, a feature that we have already searched for on Google.
Google Search is not the end of Discover
Below, in addition to the search section, we have access to our profile and category called Find, where we will see the relevant news. This section also reminds me of the same large part of Google, with the same name.
It is possible that when this service leaves the beta the application is traditionally integrated in EMUI and is a replacement for Google Search in the left area of the desks.
App APK is no longer available as Huawei has removed it from its public domain when it requested its use. Of course, if you want to see how it works you can do it at this link.
