Huawei has just surprised us with a new model of the P50 series, announced last July with the Huawei P50 and P50 Pro. Huawei P50eis a little below the Huawei P50, with a more adjusted price.
The Huawei P50e is a new mobile with Snapdragon 778G in special 4G version, which retains the same look, the same cameras and the same battery. In a way, it’s a Huawei P50 with a different processor and now available in blue.

Now with Snapdragon 778G
About six months have passed since Huawei announced the Huawei P50 and Huawei P50 Pro, a time when other brands already have a new generation ready. Huawei, which we already know sometimes has problems with suppliers and components, had to settle for the launch the same mobile with another processor.
In one line, it’s the Huawei P50e: a Huawei P50 with Snapdragon 778 instead of Snapdragon 888. Connectivity, unfortunately, remains the same. As with the Huawei P50, the Huawei P50e mounts a Snapdragon 778G 4G, i.e. with 5G disabled. The versions remain the same: 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage to choose from.
The rest of the specifications therefore remain unchanged from the Huawei P50, starting with the 90Hz OLED collarwith Full HD+ resolution, 300Hz and 1440Hz touch response from PWM dimming. The screen integrates the front camera, from 13 megapixels, perforated centered on the top, and the fingerprint reader under its surface.
Behind, the Huawei P50e is again betting on the Huge pill-shaped camera modulewith the same features as the Huawei P50: a triple camera by Leica with a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 13-megapixel wide-angle sensor and a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor with 5x optical zoom.
The terminal is completed with a 4,100 mAh battery supporting 66 W fast charging (the charger is sold separately) and 4G, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. Having been announced in China, it comes with HarmonyOS 2 pre-installed, although if sold worldwide it would normally include EMUI 12 instead.
