After the announcement of HarmonyOS 2.0 in China, and after presenting this system in Europe as well as the first devices that integrate it, the brand has deployed unlimited updates in its country and outside the beta program: Early Huawei phones can now upgrade to HarmonyOS 2.0 from phone options.
Huawei’s future after the US veto unleashed in a firm commitment to its own operating system: HarmonyOS. This system has been developing for a long time; a development that was released with the beta version of HarmonyOS 2.0. The Huawei Watch 3 is the first device, along with the Huawei MatePad 11 tablet, to feature the new operating system as standard. And the question remains: when will cellphones that were already in circulation be updated in Europe? In China, they are starting to have answers.
Direct upgrade to HarmonyOS 2.0 and no beta programs
Until now, and still within Chinese borders since Huawei did not communicate global update deadlines, it was possible to update some Huawei phones to HarmonyOS 2.0 following the company’s beta program. The firmware is not yet completely stable, but there has been a notable change for owners of some phones: they can now update without delay and unlimited from the system settings.
As stated in MyDrivers (in Chinese), Huawei has opened up unlimited updates to HarmonyOS 2.0 for a good number of its phones, both from Huawei itself and from Honor. With this step taken in the pursuit of the release of the system, those who are eligible for the update will be able to do so from EMUI, within the “My Huawei” application.
HarmonyOS 2.0 update is only distributed in China. And the mobiles which already have the download available without delay and in an unlimited way are:
