Huawei’s revolutionary mobile could arrive in Europe: the company throws winks

Although this week has been important for Apple users, due to the presentation of the iPhone 16, Android users have had other reasons to be excited, with the presentation of the Huawei Mate XT. It is the most original and innovative mobile phone we have seen in a long time, if you can define it as “mobile”.

The Huawei Mate XT is the first triple foldable on the market; it is composed of a huge 10.2 inch flexible screenwhich can be used in three different ways: as a classic mobile phone, as a foldable like the Galaxy Z Fold, and as a tablet. The potential is enormous and the first demos point to a monster of productivity and multitasking.

There’s just one problem: the Huawei Mate XT has been launched only in china. On the one hand, this is what we expected, since this is what normally happens with all Huawei launches: the company’s priority continues to be China, where it is able to beat brands like Apple in terms of popularity. Especially since, in the rest of the world, the company is still suffering the consequences of the US trade blockade.

That’s why it was quite surprising to see that Huawei promotes Mate XT outside China. X and YouTube social media accounts are posting content about the new triple, with videos demonstrating its capabilities and photos showing off the elegance of its leather design and gold accents.

This is striking because Huawei’s marketing division for the global market usually focuses on devices that will come out of China; it doesn’t make much sense to spend effort and money creating ads for an audience that can’t buy a mobile. If we look at the ads released so far, they focus on devices such as the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra or the Huawei Watch Fit 3, available in Europe.

This could indicate that Huawei is planning to launch the Mate XT in Europe and the rest of the world; or it could be all our speculation. The Mate XT ads don’t explicitly state that the device will be sold outside of China, and there’s no mention of a possible global event.

It is entirely possible that Huawei will use the Mate to brag to everyone of what he has accomplished; In fact, it is very likely that the ads were produced because of the brand image and not so much because of the product. In the absence of official confirmation, it is better to think so; But that does not mean that we cannot get excited. Of course, it must be taken into account if the Mate are superior to those of China.
