Xiaomi has released a new batch of updates for some of its most popular phones in recent years. Finally, HyperOS has started to arrive to three smartphones that debuted on the market between 2020 and 2022, including two mid-range models.
The POCO F4 and POCO F4 GT have started receiving the HyperOS operating system update. These are two phones that arrived a few years ago, but what is even more surprising is that the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro also started receiving HyperOS, a mobile phone that arrived on the market four years ago. However, not everyone will receive the same version of the operating system.
Two of these Xiaomi receive HyperOS based on Android 14, but one receives Android 13
HyperOS is a new operating system with which Xiaomi replaces MIUI. The system is built on the Linux kernel and has all the Android libraries, and Xiaomi’s intention is that HyperOS arrives both cell phones and tablets, watches, televisions and even cars. Among its new features are, among others, interface improvements, a new control center, a better image and video editor and changes to notifications.
However, whether your mobile receives HyperOS does not necessarily mean you will receive Android 14. There is also an operating system version based on Android 13.
This is the case of Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, which although it is updated to HyperOS, will receive the version based on Android 13, which means that you will not enjoy some of the exclusive new features of HyperOS. This new batch of updates is distributed as follows:
- The Xiaomi POCO F4 receives HyperOS based on Android 14
- The Xiaomi POCO F4 GT receives HyperOS based on Android 14
- The Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro receives HyperOS based on Android 13
HyperOS is now available for these devices, but it first reaches users registered in Xiaomi’s Mi Pilot program, as our colleagues from Mundo Xiaomi explain. Knowing that the European ROM is already available, the rest of the users in Europe and the rest of the European countries should receive the OTA update of the stable version of the system in a few days.
