I still remember the time when WhatsApp was only used to send messages and images. Now, the application owned by Meta brings together a series of functions and options, some focused on confidentiality like this one that makes you invisible on calls. I’ve already lost count and I have to admit that I don’t use most of them.
Actually, I didn’t know that was possible. dismiss notifications with a single touch on my mobile screen. It’s honestly a wonder for those of us who have been accumulating groups (that won’t shut up) for years: I say goodbye to the annoying mark of messages waiting to be read. And you can do it too.
A hidden button that marks all messages as read
This WhatsApp feature is new to me, but it’s actually been present in the Meta app for a while. As WhatsApp has changed since its last redesign, it now includes new buttons, like filters that allow, as the name suggests, Filter the list of recent discussions.
Very useful if you keep many conversations on the WhatsApp home screen, locating certain chats, such as groups, is now very simple and fast. What I didn’t expect is that These filters hide more features: Holding your finger down displays a hidden button.
“Mark as read” is what it says. When you tap it, all pending read notifications magically disappear. Yes, those green icons with numbers
It’s a great reliefand above all a tool that saves a lot of time when using WhatsApp. And I will never forget it, I hope they don’t decide to remove it. If like me you want to take advantage of this little trick, I will explain how to do it:
- Open WhatsApp and stay on the main screen.
- If you don’t see the filters, you’ll need to swipe down. You’ll now see the “All”, “Unread”, “Favorites”, and “Groups” buttons.
- Keep your finger on “unread» to perform a long press.
- You will see how an option titled “Mark as read“. When you press, all message waiting marks will disappear.
Similarly, if you hold down on other filters like “Groups”, only notifications from WhatsApp groups. Now, in a jiffy, I keep my list of chats up to date, and without going through them one by one, because I waste too much time on other things to do it with my cell phone.
