I love watches very much, ever since I was a child. I love them so much that for a few years I resisted buying a smartwatch: “I don’t need one, I prefer a classic watch”, I said, although later I gave in to temptation and now I can’t live without them. , especially since my first one came into my hands with a clock. Port the OS operating system.
But the simplicity and the look many classic watches, especially if we talk about one of my favorite lines: Casio G-Shock. Fortunately, smartwatches are so versatile that it is very easy to give them the look we want, even like a G-Shock, or at least with the same style. All you have to do is install an app, and after much searching on the Google Play Store, I found a few that have it look what i’m looking for
My favorite dials to give a “retro” style to my smartwatch
More than an app, I mean a watch facecustom dials that we can install on our Wear OS smartwatches. There are many on the Google Play Store, and there are even apps that allow us to create our own dials.
On this occasion, I was looking for a dial made by a professional who would offer me a design similar to those digital watches that for decades have become legendary pieces of watchmaking, I was looking for something that reminded me of my favorite G-Shockincluding those that passed through my hands, or rather my wrist.
I found four dials that I really like and that’s exactly what they have look that I was looking for, with enough differences between them to have several and occasionally change the style of my smartwatch. They are:
ILLUMINATOR Digital Watch Face
My favorite among all the options on this list, especially for its realistic design which even simulates the lighting system of digital watches and has many customization options, both for the design of the dial and to include the desired complications. You can buy it on the Google Play Store from this link.
Moepaw LED Watch Face 2
An alternative simpler, but just as attractive. Its design reminds me a lot of some Casio digital watches, cleverly taking advantage of the spaces on the screen to display information on steps, battery and even direct access to the calendar. You can buy it on the Google Play Store from this link.
LM bw electronic_02 watch
An option with a look Quite retro, but very stylish. The screen includes all the information you would look for on a watch face, such as calendar, heart rate, steps and kilometers traveled, as well as two customizable complications. You can buy it on the Google Play Store from this link.
MKWatch 268 Digital Head-Up Display
Finally, an option that certainly screams G-Shock, as it has a look that is very reminiscent of some of Casio’s digital sports models. This is without a doubt one of my favorite dials, along with the first on this list, as it not only has a design that I really like, but also offers a lot of information on the screenincluding steps, calendar, alarms and three complications that we can customize. You can buy it on the Google Play Store from this link.
In addition to using a dial like the ones we listed above, we can also complete the look with a protective cover for the watch that gives it a more resistant and sporty look, in the best style of G-Shock watches and similar. Finally, the dials I mentioned are not free, but we can also use free applications to create our own dials for Wear OS.
