Stickers and GIFs on WhatsApp allow us to communicate in a more fun, relaxed and even more direct way. There are many fun sticker packs that we can use in WhatsAppand at Xataka Android we explain how to create your own stickers.

In the case of GIFs, Samsung Galaxy phones offer a very simple and quick way to create them without installing anything, using the same camera app that includes mobile, and the Gallery app. Since discovering this feature, I’ve continued to use it to create my own GIFs, including several of my pets, of course. Next, we explain how to create your own GIFs in just a few steps.

How to create GIFs directly with a Samsung Galaxy’s camera

In many cases, to create a GIF it is necessary to install an application or perhaps use a web service, but the Samsung Galaxy camera has a native function to export videos to GIF format, with some limits and after performing an initial configuration.

These WhatsApp functions are little known, but once you use them, you won't be able to do without them.

GIFs are created from videos that we record with the camera, and even We can customize them with stickers, text and change the GIF playback. It’s recommended that GIFs be just long enough to convey what we want to say: give a thumbs up, say hello, or simply capture something funny our pet did.

To create GIFs using the Samsung Galaxy Camera, follow these steps:

The first thing to do is to configure the GIF creation function in the Samsung Galaxy mobile camera:

  • We press the button in the form of gear in the upper left corner
  • In the section “pictures“, Choose “Slide the shutter button towards»
  • Finally, change the default option (capture a continuous shot) to “Create a GIF»

Since I updated my Samsung Galaxy to One UI 6.1, the battery is more protected than ever. I just had to enable this setting

This way, when you drag and hold the button to take photos and record videos on the camera, we will record a GIF. We can save GIFs up to 30 frames. And after saving it, we can also make important changes.

My recommendation is to change the speed of the GIF. By default it is usually set to level 7, but I recommend increase GIF speed up to level 8 or even level 9, depending on the case, so that it has a more fluid and natural movement.

Then we can add stickers or text, crop the image and edit it until it looks exactly the way we want it. Finally, we press the “Save” button. And that’s all, The GIF is ready and we can send it on WhatsAppon Telegram, share it on a social network or wherever you want.
