This was demonstrated with the exploded view of the Apple Watch Ultra that iFixit experts have already been able to do, which among other things discovered a battery that has reached unsuspected limits.
Efficiency yes, size too
The Apple Watch Series 8 battery has a 1.19 Wh battery, I put this data so you can compare the scale: the Watch Series Ultra has a 2.1 Wh battery. It is therefore 76% larger than that of classic watch models.
Apple had to do some obvious work to optimize and improve consumption, but naturally the size of the battery must be the main culprit for the increase in the autonomy of the watch.

Other than that, Fixit found the inside of an Apple Watch quite recognizable and with the level of repairability expected from the company. The only difference is that instead of using adhesive, many Watch Ultra components are screwed together. And yet, even the experts could not avoid breaking the screen by dislodging it, also damaging the covers responsible for sealing the device. Takeaway: Enjoy your Apple Watch Ultra, but trust an authorized repairer to open it instead.
