We love ChatGPT. Thanks to its many utilities, it is shown to be an artificial intelligence system that has come to stay. Even if one of the merits that can be most associated with him is that of having inspired (or precipitated) the competition. And in these, that for months we have Google Bard.
It is Google’s AI which, with its recent arrival in Europe, demonstrates have more functions suitable for people with vision problems. Not maybe for people who have no vision, but for people who have partial vision problem.
Functions suitable for everyone and essential for others
That Google Bard continues to reach new territories like Europe is news, but also that it has done so by implementing new features never seen before and that, as we said before, they outperform ChatGPT. Not because OpenAI’s AI makes it worse, but because it just doesn’t have them.
To be more precise, we refer to functions such as power interpret images. Bard allows you to attach a link to an image and will soon allow you to attach them directly from our devices. With this, the AI is able to make a very complete description of the photograph.
This feature is something extremely interesting for the general public, but it becomes very valuable for people who have vision problems and want to know what an image is about. From what we could prove, It’s not perfect yet, but it works pretty well..
One of the tests that best reflects this we have done with the previous image, belonging to the Google Pixel 7a analysis carried out by Xataka. After sending him the link to this image, Bard provided us with a full answer with lots of details terminal specifications and even additional details.
It serves as an example due to the good ability to know exactly what the photograph is about. Now well, all the information you provide is not correct. He mentions some specs the Pixel 7a doesn’t really have, like the 3.5-millimeter headphone jack or the 6GB of RAM (it has 8GB).
In this sense, it shows a weakness shared with ChatGPT and other text generators: reliability. It can help us get an idea of something pretty close, but all the information it offers is unverified, and therefore this work is the responsibility of the user. There will come a day when this will no longer be necessary, of course, but not today.
The other outstanding feature of Google Bard regarding ChatGPT is its voice responses. Again, this is a useful feature for most, especially in situations where we can’t stop to read a long response. And, importantly, it is also crucial for people with vision problems, probably their only option to witness the answers provided by the AI.
There are more improvements that Google Bard has incorporated and surely that still has a long way to go regarding the other new options, in addition to tweaking the current options. For the moment, it is not little. Welcome to our country, Google Bard.
