Doing paperwork with the public administration can be an eyesore. Not to mention that as a rule, their apps and web pages are usually disastrous. Fortunately, there are exceptions such as ‘My Citizen Folder’ or the ‘PLAYMAD’ app which I will specifically discuss in this post.
It’s an app that claims to be at the service of Madrid residents (of the whole community) thanks to the precise integration of video tutorials to explain the procedures in a simpler way. It’s something that even most internet natives enjoy, but it has even more to it.
It is free and requires no registration at any time.
‘PLAYMAD’ is Promoted by the Community of Madrid with the aim of beinginteractive television platform” of the region. And it has videos and content taken from Telemadrid, as we will see later, but the truth is that it brings together more functions.
It is available on iPhone and Android. As for Google’s operating system, it requires Android 5.0 or later, and considering that version is almost a decade ago, pretty much any fairly new mobile can to access.
Something that caught my eye was that after months of testing, I found its Google Play ratings to be poor. In fact, there are negative comments regarding its performance. Without wanting to deny these arguments, I must say that at least in my case It gave me a good user experience at this time. And being free, well, everyone tries and judges.
PLAYMAD
PLAYMAD is the new digital channel for accessing and disseminating information, citizen assistance and electronic administration services in the Community of Madrid.
Procedures of the Community of Madrid, explained
I come back to what I commented on at the beginning concerning the procedures. and I do it for clarify that in ‘PLAYMAD’ you cannot perform procedures. For this there are other applications and web pages of the Community of Madrid or the State.
What ‘PLAYMAD’ does is offer a kind of video tutorials on all procedures which can currently be requested in the region. For example, applying for maternity benefits, subscribing to the virtual health card or knowing how to apply for the youth card.
These procedures all appear in the same tab, just click on them to see the corresponding videos. Of course, with a video player normal and ordinary in which we can stop and move through time, although they are usually short-lived.
Culture pills and full documentaries
Another section that caught my eye is the ability to access what the app calls “theater pills.” It is included in the home tab interface and allows know some particularities about famous directors
Also on the same home screen are included comprehensive documentary programs dedicated to the region. In this case, from Telemadrid, with the famous ‘Ruta 179’ and ‘Madrid from the air’ or reports on the mythical Madrid metro. So we can learn some of the secrets of the Community of Madrid. And that, in the absence of a Telemadrid app, I consider it a great contribution (and I take this opportunity to publicly slap Radio Televisión Madrileña for not creating an app).
Without neglecting culture, we can also discover films in which Madrid is the protagonist with small billboards of feature films, but also interviews and reports about them.
Already in more institutional terms we can also monitor the official acts of the Communitysomething that is particularly indifferent to me, but that I can’t help but comment on.
Finally, it also has a section that explains how to contact citizen services. Either the 012 phone or those known in Madrid as “360 offices”.
