Copy and Paste in iOS 16.1

iOS 16.1 is still in beta and with it comes the momentum of new features to try and test among users enrolled in the Developer Program. It is very likely that the new version will arrive in the next few weeks since we have the Release Candidate among us, and with it the first major update after the release of iOS 16.1. There are many functions that remained in the inkwell at the launch of iOS 16 and gradually the updates will bring them. In the latest beta it has been included an option to manage permissions to copy and paste content for each app in the Settings menu.

Apple integrates individual permissions for apps to copy and paste in iOS 16.1

iOS 16.1 Release Candidate and we already know that iPadOS 16 will officially arrive on October 24th. Everything therefore seems to indicate that the final version of iOS 16.1 will also arrive on this date. It will be time to welcome a new update on all our devices and being able to enjoy all the functions that you can consult in the following article that we published a few weeks ago.

In this one version that we will see, we have a new function which allows to modify the permissions to copy and paste elements in each application. In the settings of each application of the Settings application, we can modify the permissions according to three options:

  • Ask: the app should continue with the question of being able to paste apps from other apps.
  • To refuse: the app cannot paste content from other apps.
  • To allow: allow the app to paste content from other apps without asking for permission again.

In this way, Apple is trying to get regulate the flow of content that we can paste between apps in iOS. This function will see the light of day with the final version of iOS 16.1 which will arrive on October 24, as we mentioned.
