You might have thought it was a problem with your iPhone. Or your AirPods. Or anything else. But no. The truth is that the combination of record whatsapp audio with airpods gives poor sound quality. That’s why we’re asking Apple to fix it with iOS 16. Or at least make it easier for developers to extract quality from AirPods.
WhatsApp and AirPods audios: like underwater
WhatsApp audios are a way to communicate more in this application, which it’s almost a universal standard
1 Exit Bluetooth
2 Send sound
3 Reconnect Bluetooth
4 Keep listening to music with AirPods— Guille Lomener (@gglomener) May 30, 2022
What Guillermo Lomener says here makes sense. If you use AirPods to listen to music, a podcast or watch a video, if you want to send audio from WhatsApp you will have to remove them or deactivate bluetooth. The reason is none other than the quality of the audio we have as a result, which gives the feeling of having been recorded “under water”.
The quality of WhatsApp audio recorded with AirPods contrasts with the high quality of phone calls
For this reason and before the imminent WWDC 2022 where we will see iOS 16 and other next-gen operating systems, is a request that comes just in time
we already know that WhatsApp isn’t the fastest embracing news company this side of the App Store. It took a while to add Dark Mode and we’re still waiting for an iPad and Apple Watch version. For this reason, the best would be for Apple to lend a hand by simplifying the necessary changes in WhatsApp as much as possible.
