iOS 17.5 is the fifth major update of iOS 17
Installing applications via the Web or “sideloading”
Europe has forced Apple to completely change its strategy with the App Store and the company must allow the installation of applications on the iPhone from outside the official store. But in iOS 17.5, in addition to alternative app stores, like AltStore, users will be able to install apps directly from the developer’s website. This means that the iPhone will allow what is called “sideloading”.
iOS 17.5 is the first version of the iPhone that allows this type of application installation, for the moment it will only be available in Europe. It is expected that over the next few weeks, developers choosing this option will begin to appear.
