So far, there is not much data on iOS 17. The most reliable sources warned that it will be a release focused on updating the main system applications. However, on The MacRumors Show podcast, Mark Gurman said there will be changes to the Wallet and Find My Improvements apps.
Gurman then compared iOS 17 to iOS 15, as far as don’t expect any groundbreaking changes or great new features like iOS 16 lock screen or iOS 14 widgets.
Also, he mentioned that he expects the trial install to be an exclusive feature in Europe, this is to comply with the Digital Markets Act.
Other Mark Gurman Rumors
Gurman is a Bloomberg technology reporter with a long track record of accurately communicating Apple’s production plans.. With over a decade of Apple coverage, the reports he provides are often accurate, and his claims often set expectations for upcoming products.
Previously he said that watchOS 10 will be the biggest watchOS update since launch. However, I comment that I would not compare it to the update jump that occurred in the case of iOS 6 to iOS 7 in 2013.
He also doesn’t expect the basic design of the platform to change, even though apparently there will be many more ways to interact and use the system. Additionally, he said he hadn’t heard any information to support the presence of app folders.
Eventually, Gurman pointed out that macOS 14 will not be a meaningful update, let alone innovative. Well, he thinks Apple is only focused on supporting features from its other operating systems for a consistent cross-platform experience.
