Beta versions are a type of Software which allow you to test the next updates of Apple operating systems before everyone else. How could it be otherwise, the company is also releasing betas for iPadOS, the Software of the iPad.
Not so long ago, when opening speech During the opening of WWDC 2022, Apple announced the arrival of the first beta version of iPadOS 16, the next update of iPadOS. With it comes new ways to collaborate and be productive in the best Tablet Of the market.
But, like everything, installing the beta version of iPadOS also has its drawbacks. These versions may include Bugs and bugs, slowing down your iPad or even not being compatible with certain applications. If you want to avoid all this, it is better to wait for the official version.
We understand that if you are here it is because you couldn’t wait and you already installed iPadOS 16 beta on your iPad and now you regret doing it. We have the solution.
How to Leave the iPadOS Beta Program
While this won’t remove the beta version you have installed on your iPad, it’s important to first remove the beta profile from your device. This will have been created when you first installed a beta on the iPad.
Having a beta profile installed also means that you will receive new betas as they are released, which will be installed on your iPad. So you want to prevent that from happening.
Follow these steps:
1. Open “Settings” on your iPad and select “General”.
2. Now tap on the “VPN and device management” option.
3. You should see your profile Software Beta iOS. Abrelo.
4. Next, find the “Delete Profile” option and tap on it to delete your iPadOS beta profile.
5. Finally, save the changes by restarting your iPad.
With these steps, you will stop receiving beta updates on your device, but the beta version you installed last will still be on your iPad. To reinstall a non-beta version (in this case, iPadOS 15 or earlier), skip to the last section.
Instead, we have another solution for developers who can easily revert to a previous version by retrieving a backup they made before installing the latest beta on iPad.
How to Remove an iPadOS Beta from iPad
If you are one of the developers who installed the beta version of iPadOS 16 on their device and want to get rid of it, you can reset the iPad and later retrieve a backup older than the current beta version.
We explain the process to you:
1. Make sure the Mac you’re using has the latest version of macOS installed (official, not beta). You can also use a computer with the latest version of iTunes.
2. Now plug your iPad into the Mac.
3. Next, you will need to put the iPad into recovery mode. The process varies depending on the model you have, particularly if your Tablet have the start button or not.
For iPads with a Home button, you’ll need to press and hold the Power button and the Home button at the same time. Keep holding them until the recovery screen (not the logo) appears.
For iPads without a home button, quickly press and release the volume button closest to the top button. Repeat the same process with the farthest button. Finally, hold down the top button until the reboot starts and enters recovery mode.
4. Click “Restore” when the option appears. Note that this will erase everything saved on the iPad, including photos, videos, settings, and of course the beta.
5. Wait for the restore to complete. The latest non-beta version of iPadOS will have been installed.
6. Finally, you will be able to retrieve a pre-beta backup, an essential step before updating your iPad to any version (beta and non-beta).
How to reinstall iPadOS 15 (or earlier)
If you installed a public beta, deleting your beta profile won’t bring you back to an official version of iPadOS. That’s why you’ll have to do it manually. One option is to check if there is a version available.
To do this, it’s as easy as going to your iPad’s “Settings” and selecting “Software Update” under the “General” section. There you should be able to see if Apple has released a new version of iPadOS that you can install on your Tablet.
Otherwise, you can always follow the steps in the previous section to recover your iPad. This means putting the iPad into recovery mode to reset it to factory settings and thus remove the beta. Then you can recover your photos and files if you install a previous backup (it will have to be done before installing the beta, of course).
Finally, you have a third option. It is the famousdemote“, which means downgrading to a version of iPadOS older than the one you have installed. You will need to download the corresponding file from the ipsw.me site (selecting your iPad model and iPadOS version).
Then you also need to put the iPad into recovery mode and click “Restore”. The program will give you the option to select the ipsw.me file that you previously downloaded. Confirm the changes by hitting “Restore” again and a previous version of iPadOS will have been installed.
