A new comparison put to the test the resistance of the iPhone 12 Pro Max against the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Drop test by YouTube channel Phone Buff offers conditions to test the shell protector IPhone 12 Corning Gorilla Glass and crystal Corning Gorilla losing Galaxy S21.
As you can see in the video, the test takes place in three rounds.
IPhone 12 and Samsung Galaxy S21 in height test
Both devices survived the first two drops without significant damage. However, the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s screen cracked while the iPhone 12 Pro Max was intact.
The video shows how Galaxy S21 Ultra scratches easily compared to Galaxy S20. Presumably, the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s screen broke due to the extra weight and the rounded design. However, the Galaxy S21’s touch screen performs well despite the crack in the corner. In the last round, both phones face an additional 14 drops.
The result again reveals the superiority of the material used on the outer part of the iPhone 12 Pro Max compared to the Galaxy S21 Ultra. The Galaxy S21 Ultra’s screen appears cracked in several places, while the iPhone 12 Pro Max is relatively unscathed.
Previously, the resistance of the iPhone 12 had been tested under similar conditions, against the Galaxy S20. At the time, Apple confirmed that, as it claims, IPhone 12 glass lasts 4 times longer than the best glass in the competition.
After comparing different features, the iPhone 12 showed absolute superiority over its main competitor.
