Apple will not only redesign the look of the iPhone 15 Pro’s volume control, but it will include other hardware innovations.
The latest next-gen iPhone rumors suggest that Apple’s new smartphones will have two major design changes. On the one hand, the company will replace the physical volume buttons of the iPhone 15 Pro with a haptic panel that will react to pressure with small vibrations. On the other hand, it is said that the iPhone 15 will not have a SIM card slot and only support eSIM.
Now from MacRumors they have once again spun the iPhone 15 rumor wheel to clarify that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models will use a low-power microprocessor that will allow certain functions such as the volume control panel to remain activated
Many iPhone 15 Pro features will continue to work with the device turned off
The new microprocessor in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will replace the current Low Power Mode capable of locate an iPhone in search even if it has been turned off for 24 hours. The new chip will be able to keep these functions and some additional functions running.
The information comes from an anonymous source who already predicted the establishment of the Dynamic Island before the launch of the iPhone 14 Pro. We are therefore dealing with very reliable information.
According to this curious rumor, iPhone 15’s microprocessor will “keep alive” haptic volume control buttons even if the device is off, in addition to the mute button that will replace the iconic switch on the side of the iPhone.
“The microprocessor will detect multiple levels of pressure with its own version of 3D Touch on the volume control buttons, mute button and power button, while the phone is dead or powered off.”
The source also revealed that the new power features of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are currently in a test period with and without the taptic engine or Taptic Engine
Another very interesting point compared to the removal of the physical buttons from the iPhone 15 Pro in exchange for the controls with feedback haptics is that Apple is rumored to be testing two versions of the new controls. The first version consists of a touch screen which adjusts the volume more or less quickly depending on the pressure level. The second version refers to a touch button with swipe gestures to increase and decrease the volume.
For now We cannot guarantee 100% that this functionality will be present yes or yes in the iPhone 15 product line later this year. But it seems pretty clear that the feature is being tested on early iPhone 15 Pro models and, if successful, will eventually be implemented in the final product.
